West Texas Warbirds Culture Statements

West Texas Warbirds Vision:
“A world-class organization that provides the Permian Basin affordable entertainment that is fun, family-friendly, and gives back to the community.”
We cannot deliver on this vision if we do not have the right culture.

Integrity

I always speak the truth. I under-promise and over-deliver. I only ever make agreements with myself and others that I am able, and intend, to keep. I communicate potential broken agreements at the first opportunity and I clear up all broken agreements immediately. I pride myself on doing all of the right things, all of the time. My integrity and my character are always within my control, and I won’t compromise them for anybody.

Teamwork

I am a team player and team leader. I do whatever it takes to work together and achieve team goals. I put the good of the team above myself. I focus on co-operation and always come to a resolution, not a compromise. I am flexible in my work and able to change if what I’m doing is not working. I ask for help when I need it and I am compassionate to others who ask me. I understand that the team is where my ultimate success lies. I want to be part of, and contribute to, a wholly successful team; being the best on a losing team is self-serving and is of no interest to me.

Community

The community that I am part of is everything to me. I strive to ensure that my community is better served by my actions. The people I choose to surround myself with directly contribute to my whole effect on my community. I appreciate what my community does for me every day. I want to see everyone in my community succeed because I know when my community wins, I win.

Learning

I learn from my mistakes. I consistently learn, grow and master so that I can help my fellow team members and community learn, grow and master too. I theorize and innovate, but I am committed to using all of my knowledge to impart practical solutions. I am committed to learning something new every day. I am just as, or more, willing to learn from others as I am to teach them.

Excellence

I will not accept “good enough.” I always deliver products and services of exceptional quality that add value to all involved for the long term. I stay on a path of constant and never-ending improvement and innovation. “Standards” are the platforms I use to propel myself to higher levels.

Ownership

I am entirely responsible for my actions, the outcome that my actions will bring, and own everything that takes place in my work and my life. I am accountable for my results and I know that in order for things to change, I must change.

Gratitude

I am a truly grateful person. I say thank you and show appreciation in many ways, and often so that all around me know how much I appreciate everything and everyone I have in my life. I celebrate my wins and the wins of my team.

Family

I have a “family first” approach to life, remembering that my spiritual, social, physical and family aspects are just as important as my financial and intellectual. I complete my work and my most important tasks first so I can have quality time to myself, with my family, and also to renew. I treat those close to me like family, and I look for a work environment that fosters and nurtures that; in return, I also foster and nurture that work environment.

Fun

I view my life as a journey to be enjoyed and appreciated. I create an atmosphere of fun and happiness so all around me enjoy life as well. I have the privilege of working in and playing a game, and I get to bring joy to the lives of so many people within our community. My best memories are those that were “fun” and I strive to give that to members of my family, my team, and my community.

“You can have all the right strategy in the world; if you don’t have the right culture, you’re dead”Patrick Whitesell, CEO of WME
“Culture isn’t just one aspect of the game- it is the game. In the end, an organization is nothing more than the collective capacity of its people to create value”Lou Gerstner Jr. CEO of IBM
“Culture is not just a document or a talking point. Culture is the living, breathing set of collective values carried by our people. It is our responsibility to instill and nurture a culture that will make our people better, and make others better for being around us.”Kertis Sports and Entertainment Group
